Top Ten Questions About MBC

Usually people like to know what they are getting into before visiting the church. We know what it's like to try anything for the first time - the anxiety, the questions, the curiosity. So we've come up with the top ten questions people have before visiting a church. How did we come up with this list? We all started off as first-time guests, too!

1. What kind of church is this? What started as a dream to reach out to the unchurched population of this area through an innovative approach involving the use of music and practical messages, is becoming a reality.
We are a church that teaches the Bible.  MBC adheres to a unique philosophy of ministry.  On weekends, music and practical messages are used to present the timeless truths of Scripture at an introductory level easily understood by non-churched people.  The Adult Bible Fellowships are designed for those who wish to develop their relationship with Christ through more in-depth Biblical teaching.  This environment fosters the development of inter-personal relationships and spiritual growth.
Dr. Rodney F. Price is our Pastor.  He is a graduate of Baptist Bible Seminary with a Th.B., M. Min. , and a D. Min. degree. He also has a M.A. in Urban Studies, from Gordon-Conwell Seminary.  He also has attended Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He presently is on the faculty of Boston Baptist College.
Our Pastor has served MBC as a senior pastor for the past 10 years.  For 31 years previous to MBC, he pastored three churches in New York and one in New Hampshire. He is committed to providing a relevant and contemporary ministry that helps people explore the claims of Christ in a non-threatening environment.
Pastor grew up in New York, and in 1964, Pastor and his wife Greta were married in Binghamton, NY. They have two children, Cheryl and Sharon, and five grandchildren.

2. What should I wear?  The modest dress code of MBC is different than most churches.  For example, people are encouraged to come in their comfortable clothing especially during the summer, and whatever is comfortable for them during the rest of the year.

3. How long will the services last?  The weekend services at MBC are typically for 65 minutes.

4. What will the service be like?  MBC adheres to a unique philosophy of ministry.  On Sunday mornings, music and practical messages are used to present the timeless truths of Scripture so they can be easily understood and applied to every-day life.  The midweek meetings are designed for those who wish to develop their relationship with Christ through prayer and Bible teaching.

5. Will I have to say anything, sign anything, give anything, or be singled out in any way?  At MBC, you can rest assured you will never be put on the spot, never singled-out, and not intentially embarrassed.  We're a family, where we want you to feel loved and appreciated, so that you will want to join the MBC family!
Further, as our guest, you will be encouraged to accept our service as our gift to you.  When the offering time arrives, we don't ask our guests to give to the church's responsibilities.  It is our pleasure to serve you!
We will probably give you a  "Communcation Card"  which you will find in the program folder that we give you.  After your visit, we want to send you a note of thanks for your attendance at  MBC!  Therefore print your address.

6. What about my chidren do they come in with me, or is there something going on for them?  Our chidren's ministry, provides an excellant educational experience for your chidren simultaniously with our adult programs.  this allows you to maximize your experience at MBC while your is receiving atention and care.  The youth join us at 11:15 and will be seated with their parents prior the morning message.

7. Is this a Christian church, or something else?  Though non-traditional in style, MBC is deeply committed to the eternal truths of the Christian faith.  The Bible is our one and only source of Faith and Practice.

8. What are the service times? Our service is on Sunday morning at 11:15 am. Our ministry also offers a program for the children, first through fifth grade, and Teen Ministry in the Blue Room starts at 10:30 simultaneously with the Adult Bible Study Fellowships.
